Treo 650About a month ago my cell phone’s display cut out. I’d have to turn it off and back on for it to work. Doing so would only last for so long and knew it was time to get a new phone. I decided to get a Treo 650 and after talking to Sprint for an hour, I was able to get a pretty good deal. Initially they were going to charge $299 for it, but the representative decided they could go as low as $99. Needless to say, I jumped at that price. So, I felt really good about their customer service.

But then my bill showed up. I was a little shocked to see it was for $180.74, and I called Customer Service to go over my bill. They charged me $73.34 for “PCS Data”, which was for the web access and email usage. When I updated my plan and activated the new phone, I was told I’d have the first month of web service for free and every month afterwards would be $14.99. Then they charged me $18 for a “Handset Upgrade Fee”. I switched phones and they charge me for it? So I’m being charged nearly $92 for their mistake and a ridiculous fee. Well, they claim they’re going to waive the handset upgrade fee and submit an “Approval Request” to have the PCS data charge reversed.

I’ve heard complaints about Sprint in the past, but they’ve never done me wrong. I’m not going to do anything drastic, but I’m doing by best to take down the names of the people who I talk to and get as much as possible in writing. You can never be too careful.
